1. Introduction
Drift — Sleep Tracker ("Drift", "we", "our", "us") is a sleep tracking application developed and operated by Wolf Technologies Ltd. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal data when you use the Drift app on iOS or the web.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

2. Data We Collect
- Account information: email address (used for authentication and account management).
- Sleep logs: bedtime, wake time, sleep quality rating, and the sleep factors you choose to record (caffeine, exercise, alcohol, stress, screen time).
- Sleep scores: calculated from your logged data, including duration, timing, consistency, and quality metrics.
- Sleep debt: accumulated sleep deficit tracking based on your logged entries.
- Subscription status: whether you have an active premium subscription, the plan type (monthly, annual, or lifetime), and expiry date.
All sleep data is entered manually by you. We do not collect data automatically from wearables, sensors, or other devices.
3. Data We Do NOT Collect
- Biometric data (heart rate, blood oxygen, HRV, or any sensor-based health metrics)
- GPS or location data
- Contacts or address-book information
- Health-sensor data (we do not integrate with HealthKit, Google Fit, or any wearable)
- Photos, camera, or microphone data
- Browsing history or search history
4. How We Use Your Data
- Calculate sleep scores from your logged bedtime, wake time, quality, and factors.
- Track sleep debt over time.
- Generate insights by identifying patterns and correlations between sleep factors and sleep quality.
- Provide trends and history (30-day trends, streaks, and consistency metrics).
- Manage subscriptions by processing and validating your premium subscription status.
- Improve the app using aggregate, anonymised usage patterns. No individual data is shared.
5. Data Storage & Security
- Region: EU West 2 (London, UK).
- Encryption at rest: all data stored in DynamoDB is encrypted using AWS-managed encryption keys.
- Encryption in transit: all data transmitted between your device and our servers uses TLS 1.2 or higher.
- Authentication: user accounts are managed through AWS Cognito with secure password hashing and token-based authentication.

Payment details (card numbers, billing addresses) are processed directly by Stripe and Apple. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising. Your data is only shared with payment processors (Stripe and Apple) for processing subscription payments and AWS infrastructure for storing and serving your data back to you. We will disclose your data if required to do so by law or in response to valid legal requests.
8. Data Retention & Deletion
- Active accounts: your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
- Account deletion: you can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account within the app.
- Deletion timeline: upon account deletion, all your personal data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days.
- Subscriptions: active subscriptions are not automatically cancelled on account deletion. Cancel via Apple subscription settings (iOS) or Manage Subscription in Settings (web) before deleting your account.
9. Your Rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, data portability, restriction of processing, and the right to object. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at pete@wolftechnologies.co.uk. We will respond within 30 days.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or in-app notification.
